As a Risk Architect, your primary responsibilities are:
  1. Monitor your Baskets: Track performance, TVL, and sync status via the admin portal
  2. Review rebalance requests: When positions deviate from target allocations, review and approve (or cancel) rebalance requests
  3. Adjust strategy: Update asset allocations in your Baskets as market conditions change
  4. Add new assets: Submit PRs to the @blend/assets registry when you want to include new DeFi opportunities
Most Risk Architects check the admin portal daily to review any pending rebalance requests.
In Morpho and other vault-based protocols, a curator or risk manager manages a shared pool where all users’ funds are commingled. A Blend Risk Architect serves a similar strategic role but in an SMA (Separately Managed Account) context: each user has their own isolated Safe, enabling more precise risk/return profiles and individualized strategy execution that pooled vaults cannot offer.
No. Risk Architects define strategy templates (Baskets) that determine how user capital is allocated. But each user’s funds are held in their own personal Gnosis Safe where the user is the sole signer. Risk Architects cannot access, move, or withdraw any user funds.
One Basket per asset class. If you manage USDC strategies, you have one USDC Basket. If you also manage ETH and BTC strategies, those are separate Baskets.
When you update a Basket’s allocations, rebalance requests are created for all accounts using that Basket. You then review and approve these requests through the rebalance queue. Changes are not applied instantly: they go through the standard review and approval process.
Yes. A single Basket can be linked to Account Types from multiple neobanks. This is common: a well-performing conservative USDC Basket might be selected by several neobanks for their savings products.
A public GitHub repository containing metadata for all DeFi assets available in Blend (names, price feeds, protocol sources). New assets are added via pull request. Risk Architects can only include assets in their Baskets if those assets are registered in @blend/assets.
Risk Architects pay per-rebalance fees when executing strategy adjustments. There is no upfront cost to become a Risk Architect or create Baskets. Fee details will be published upon program launch.
The admin portal uses Auth0 for authentication, separate from end-user Privy authentication. Your portal login is not linked to any on-chain wallet.
